    The North Region of Brazil (Portuguese: Região Norte do Brasil) is the largest Region of Brazil, corresponding to % of the national is the least inhabited of the country, and contributes with a minor percentage in the national GDP and population. The National Forest lands in the Northern Region encompass 25 million acres in five states. Included are 12 national forests located in northeastern Washington, northern Idaho, and Montana; and a national grassland in North Dakota and northwestern South Dakota.
