This is the Land Registration Bill [HL], as brought from the House of Lords on 8th November EXPLANATORY NOTES Explanatory Notes to the Bill, prepared by the Lord Chancellor's Department, are published separately as Bill EN. These were updated and extended by the Land Registration Actand the Bill therefore largely replicates the existing position.

First, compulsory registration is triggered by specified types of transfer of a qualifying estate, which is defined as either a legal freehold estate, or a legal lease with more than seven years to run. This book is an examination of the law of land registration in England and Wales, in the light of the Land Registration Actand in particular at the way land registration is influenced by, and in turn influences, the evolution of land law as a whole.

It examines the legal problems that have arisen in connection with land registration and considers the effect of the statute, drawing. – The Land Reform Review Group recommended that such a measure be adopted to improve transparency in the ownership of land.

– The Land Reform Bill consultation in December sought views on the proposal and it was widely endorsed by consultees. – The Land Reform Bill was published in June but did not contain provision for such a bar. So, the term that is used in land registration is “land use right registration”, not “land registration” alone. However, in general, most registration activities fulfilled come to the same. The distinction between land ownership and land use right is a Land Registration Bill[HL] book one.
